Making its debut in 1990, Café Pyrenees restaurant presented its first wine dinner that featured wines by Northern California vintner Seghesio Winery. The dinner was such a huge success that patrons were found seated on top of boxes after the restaurant ran out of chairs! Eighteen years later, Café Pyrenees in Libertyville, IL, has bought more than enough chairs to accommodate the dozens of patrons expected to attend the Seghesio Winery Tapas Wine Dinner on Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008. An eight-course menu designed by Chef Jean-Marc Loustaunau will feature specialty wines from the Seghesio Winery, presented with perfectly pitched pairings of cuisine. Café Pyrenees, located at 1762 North Milwaukee Avenue in Libertyville, will provide wine education by wine expert Eddie Lopez, who will elaborate on the history and popularity of Seghesio wines. The cost of the September 11 dinner is $55 per person, which includes a 2-oz. pour of each wine, or $27 per person excluding wine.
