The Jake Leg Stompers and the Shelby Bottom String Band will play "TAP Your Foot", a monthly musical benefit for Tennessee Alliance for Progress on Tuesday, April 14th at the 5 Spot.

The Jake Leg Stompers - Come one, come all! See the “One and Only Original Old-Time Cakewalk Medicine Circus Show”! America’s finest roots revival band playing “Hokum-Billy Jug Music”. Complete with traditional instruments along with harmonica, kazoo, accordion, singing saw, washboard, tuba, banjo-uke and even spoons, the Stompers pound out pre-WWII blues, hot jazz, jugband, Dixieland, and hillbilly music that sounds as authentic as anything emanating from Great-Great Granny’s gramaphone. From Memphis Blues to the Virginia Reel; when jazz began, vaudeville was urgent, and folk music was dangerous, the Jake Leg Stompers are sure to entertain!

Shelby Bottom String Band plays old-time music for new times, including old songs from the Depression that are suddenly relevant again, originals, and quirky songs from the deep catalogs of Americana writers.
