Tanya Janca CD Release Party March 25, 2007

OTTAWA-You are all invited to the release of Tanya Janca’s newest album, Recreate, Sunday March 25th at the Rainbow Bistro. Opening this early show will be singer/songwriter Andre Bourbonnais.

Long known for her blunt lyrics and aggressive guitar playing, Tanya shows a happier, lighter side of herself on Recreate. With pop-y riffs, and a new heavy blues influence, this folk artist has almost switched genres, but not quite. Reflective tales of loves lost and found, social commentary on the state of pop music, as well as her standard political statements are just a few of the topics covered on the album.

In recent years, Janca has worked hard to Recreate her musical self into something more mature and refined, and this album is successfully representative of these efforts. Unlike any of her previous three official releases, and the many more unofficial ones, this album defines a new beginning for Janca. Come see for yourself.

Opening for Janca is singer/songwriter Andre Bourbonnais. Bourbonnais is a bilingual songwriter with an impressive voice, well known in Ottawa circles for being the front man of Dopamine.
