It wouldn’t be the winter solstice without the tireless TamarRaqs ushering in the year’s shortest day with her biannual hafla (“celebration” in Arabic) series at BAMcafé Live, which features music from the Middle East and North Africa, dancers performing raqs sharqi (belly dancing), and a host of special guests.
