In the summer of 2006, we undertook the project, 'The Pennine Way: The Legs That Make Us', as a choreographic pathway, a shared journey and celebration of walking as the dance, that moved us through 31 days.
There was a continual duet, the interaction with those we met along the way and interventions by six other artists; Jo Brown, Glyn Brewerton, Companions of Pram, Peter J. Evans, Laura Pedersen and Tim Rubidge. They were invited to change the rhythm of our pace and our collective experiences of the 270 mile backbone of England; making work with us and in response to our journeys through the landscape.
Accompanying the launch of our book about the project and for the first time since the projects physical ending we now bring together the works of the artists and the testimonies of their endeavors to be exhibited at Dance City.
Simone and Tamara will open the exhibition with an accompanying performance lecture. You are invited to walk with the artists through the building and share in their tales and memories of this 31 day choreography of adventures and the life of the Pennine Way
Limited edition books will be available for sale at the event.
