About the Expert: Dr. C. Srtinivasulu, Assistant Professor in Zoology, teaches at the Department of Zoology, University College of Science, Osmania University, Hyderabad. He is an internationally recognized conservation biologist and taxonomist whose major focus of work is on biodiversity inventorisation and conservation issues, tetrapod taxonomy and conservation, distribution of small volant and non-volant mammals in South Asia and effects of urbanization on biodiversity. Along with his wife, Dr. Bhargavi Srinivasulu, he has been studying feeding ecology and taxonomy of bats since the past 12 years and has discovered a new subspecies of bat from Nallamala Hills, Andhra Pradesh. He has published 83 papers in peer-reviewed journals of national and international repute, 48 general articles and three reference books on small mammals of South Asia (including one on bats). He is a member of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), Species Survival Commission (SSC), Conservation Breeding Specialist Group (CBSG) and International Zoo Educators (IZE). IUCN has recognized him as a Population and Habitat Viability Assessment (PHAV) Modeler, Conservation Assessment and Management Plan (CAMP) Modeler, database Manager and Zoo Educator. He is involved with Global Amphibian, Reptilian and Mammalian Assessment Programmes of IUCN and Conservation International (CI)/Centre for Advanced Biological Sciences (CABS), Washington DC, USA.
