Edge Hill University has teamed up with top business leaders to provide you with valuable skills to get ahead in the marketplace. The first in our series of networking events on Thursday, 10 September, 2009, will be held in the inspirational setting of the university's showpiece £8m Business, Law and Criminology building. This free event is open to former students and anyone who would like the opportunity to learn new skills from business experts and to network with members of the North West business community.
The evening will include top tips on networking from Martyn Best, Director at leading North West PR agency, Paver Smith, and advice on how best to manage your talent from leading consultant Gwen Coyle, Director, at Gwen Coyle Associates Ltd. Following these sessions there will be the opportunity to network with Edge Hill alumni, university staff and the business community.
Our networking events are designed to teach essential skills that can be immediately put into practice in an informal setting. They are a highly effective way of promoting yourself, your company or your products and developing new contacts.
In lean economic times any help with enhancing business skills is particularly valuable. Fewer job vacancies and limited training budgets mean that opportunities for professional development are harder to come by. Building a good network of contacts is vital for improving your professional skills, developing relationships, sharing ideas and experiences and finding out about possible vacancies before anyone else.
You are invited to attend the event, when there will also be the chance to tour the new Business, Law and Criminology building and make new contacts over drinks and canapés.
To book your place, contact the alumni office at alumni@edgehill.ac.uk or on 01695 584861. Please indicate to us if you do not want these details to be made available to other invitees.
We look forward to seeing you there!
