Join the Center for Asian Arts and Media at Columbia College Chicago and the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Chicago for a special reception and a series of screenings celebrating the new wave of filmmaking in Taiwan and abroad.
Featuring three award-winning stories that showcase the diverse filmmaking styles and social narratives of current-day Taiwan:
* CAPE NO. 7, a blockbuster musical drama with a unique blend of contemporary Taiwanese sentiment and Japanese colonial memory;
* ORZ BOYZ, a delightful boyhood drama about two prankster boys' imaginations and journey to the world of grown-ups;
* YANG YANG, a beautifully performed identity drama about a French-Chinese girl's quest for love and acceptance.
