"Displaying sophisticated bowing and vibrato, her performance was at times deliberate but never stolid. It was enhanced by a warm tone that easily soared above the orchestra.…"
(The Strad on Tai Murray)

Since her debut with the Chicago Symphony at age nine, violinist Tai Murray has energetically and deliberately left her mark on the chamber music world, having recently performed with the orchestras of Chicago, Atlanta, St. Louis, Sacramento, among others. Murray, who will join PCMS on Sunday, January 18, is known for a maturity and grace beyond her years, allowing her to dazzle audiences with an "awe-inspiring execution" (Salt Lake Tribune). Murray was also invited to perform the DvoYák Violin Concerto with the Juilliard Orchestra in August 2005 in Berlin and has toured three times with the Musicians from Marlboro. She is a member of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center II and performs regularly with the Ritz Chamber Players.

Performing with Tai Murray is pianist Lambert Orkis. "I feel that music is essential to life," Orkis says on his website, "and has the power to revitalize humankind." Having achieved international renown for his performances as a chamber musician, Orkis' interpretations on period instruments and his acclaimed, Grammy-nominated recordings have also garnered increasing praise. He performs regularly with the Smithsonian Institution's Castle Trio, which, using period instruments, has recorded the cycle of Beethoven Trios.
