Symposium on Biological and Chemical Informatics for Health: Foundations for Systems Biology June 24, 2009

Biological and chemical informatics as well as their interaction play a crucial role in addressing key issues in drug design and discovery, environmental sustainability, health and disease processes, disease prevention, diagnosis and treatment. Only an appropriate integration of these diverse disciplines may present real chances for addressing some of the most challenging issues posed by systems biology.

Brunel University is organising a two day symposium where influential leaders in each area (bioinformatics, chemoinformatics, systems biology, health) will present plenary talks on the latest developments in their area and help to shape this interdisciplinary field. It will also provide an excellent environment for delegates to participate in networking activities and developing collaborative, interdisciplinary research partnerships. The symposium will be jointly funded by the BBSRC and Brunel University
