The annual Sydney Model Railway Exhibition will be held on 29-30 September and 1 October (October Long Weekend) at the Whitlam Leisure Centre, Liverpool.
This exhibition is not just for the enthusiasts. It is a special day for families and children. It is an enchanting place where the miniature worlds come to life and a child’s fascination and imagination is rediscovered. Other activities for children include Thomas the Tank Engine rides and the U-Drive for the kids to get a go. The U-drive is a layout developed as a fundraiser for charity, the beneficiary this year will be Liverpool Lions Club.
With its diversity and quality of the entrants, the Sydney Model Railway Exhibition is one of a kind. It is the longest running model railway exhibition in Australia and the largest in New South Wales. This year there will be more stands than ever before. The layouts on display cover all scales and prototypes, and come from all over Australia.
Over the three days people of all ages and interests attend to view the model train layouts, commercial stands and demonstration clinics. Also exhibiting are many kindred organisations including the Sydney Tramway Museum, NSW Railway Transport Museum and the Australian Railway Historical Society.
