okay, who is "yahoo careers" and how did they take the event I added, and mess up the name/title - making it the "music" event instead of Interactive?

Looks like it was accidentally merged. I let the team know, and I'm sure it'll get cleared up tomorrow.

I've sent a message to 'yahoo careers' asking them to remove "Music" from the title. I guess you've done the same, Bill?

By the way, Yahoo people, I don't think it's cool to take an event that one of your users added, attach your own name to it and mess around with the name in the process. Not cool at all.

Well, I wasn't really upset about it. I was just curious what happened. Looks like they've changed the title, though instead of being Interactive only, it's for the whole conference. No worries.

That's lame, because I keep having to explain to my boss that I'm not going to a music festival on the company dime, I'm going to an interactive conference. This event description does not help my case.

Can we switch this back to Interactive only? There is already an event for the Music portion; and we can add one for Film, too. Having this one event be for the whole thing messes up my calendar as the dates are different for all three portions of the conference.

As for tips - don't plan, and talk to as many people as possible. And if you are a germ-a-phobe bring some spray hand sanitizer you will be meeting 100's of people! Bring lots of water as well with you. By the end of conference you can easily loose your voice!

We'd like to announce a cool, open bar, all ages, rock and technology event during SXSW Interactive Week 2008: ROCK.OPERA.SXSW - Come rock out at the "Rock Bands Rock Opera" Party!!!

Come join the most rock-and-roll browser in the world, Opera, as we celebrate SXSW Interactive Week 2008 at one of Austin's coolest outdoor ampitheaters, Stubb's, on Monday, March 10, 2008, between 5:30pm and midnight!

This "Rock Bands Rock Opera" SXSW 2008 event will feature several great rock bands from Los Angeles: Gliss, Sabrosa Purr, and Taxi Doll and Austin-natives, Lomita and Oliver Future - a band that was recently rated Best Live Band in Austin. The Norwegian label, Smalltown Supersound, will also supply DJ entertainment at the beginning and end of the evening, and Norwegian fashion by Moods of Norway will be shown on artists throughout the show.

At the show, we'll be showing off the latest versions of My Opera, Opera, Opera Mini, the Wii Internet Channel and some very special new stuff! We are excited to rock with you in Austin, TX at SXSW 2008 and look forward to seeing all of you at our open-bar, all-ages music and technology ROCK.OPERA.SXSW shindig!
