Sword Fighting: From Shakespeare to the Present May 26, 2010

A presentation and demonstration of the arts of the sword, highlighting Medieval and Renaissance weapons found in Shakespeare's plays and tracing the development of fencing to its present status as a modern Olympic sport.
The presentation will be led by Walter Green, a Maitre d'Armes (Fencing Master, the highest rank of professional coach) of the Academie d'Armes International and a Fellow of the Institute of Martial
Arts and Sciences. Assisting him will be accomplished fencers from Salle Green LLC, a U.S. Fencing Coaches Association Guild Academy.
