Joker's Wild is playing at the Fremont Abbey and we'll be waltzing (among other dances including quite a bit of swing.)
6-7pm- A lesson in 6 count Foxtrot, 7-9:30 Live music by Joker's Wild. $15 lesson and dance- pay at the door.
A few of you know of Joker's Wild from Contra dances but to know the musicians is to get really excited about this upcoming dance. We will have lots of great waltz as well as some fine swing and others--this will be a glorious evening.
Joker's Wild is a trio of fantastic musicians- the cream of social waltz-
Dave Bartley Guitar, mandolin and other string instruments ( author of all those beautiful KGB waltzes)- Rouge, Valse Cafe, Ruby Slippers....
Deb Kirkland- Violinist extraordinaire, both dance and classical- Valse Cafe, sitting in with KGB and a member of several local symphonies...
WB Reid- a fine singer, guitarist, fiddler, and also known for his work on banjo-guitar and banjo-mandolin- with the Rhythm rollers and with a wide variety of musicians for various contradances.
These are not only seasoned musicians they play the kind of music we love to dance to.
