Swing Dance June 12, 2009

Swing and blues crossover for east-coast and west-coast swing, lindy hop and blues dancing.

DANCE PARTY: 8:30 - 12:00 includes
8:40 free Swing Basics lesson,
light food, refreshments,
dancing on a huge chandelier-lit wood ballroom floor.

No partner and no dance experience needed.

WORKSHOPS with Joy Arico:
6:45 - 7:30 "Lindy Hop: Applying Blues Connection to Improve Your Swing Out" (Prereq: basic 8-ct Swing Out experience).
We will focus on posture and lead/follow tools which will add stretch and momentum to our Swing Outs, and increase lead/follow clarity.

7:30 - 9:00 "Slow Dancing to Blues" (Prereq: some social partner dance experience with comfort in basic lead/follow skills)
Blues Dancing, the sultry dance style sweeping the swing scene worldwide. Musicality and active connection with your partner are key, and the emphasis of this workshop. ($35 Prepaid for workshop & dance.)
