(San Jose) February 16, 2013: South Bay’s official women’s flat track roller derby league, the Silicon Valley Roller Girls, will be hosting the season opener of a 5- bout home game season at San Jose Skate, 397 Blossom Hill Road, on Saturday, February 16. At 6:00 pm, the KillaBytes challenge the Like OMGs of San Fernando Valley in what's sure to be an edge-of-your-seat nail biter. Then at 8:00 pm, the Dot.Kamikazes and the V-Town Derby Dames face off for a rematch after a close bout last September.
The SVRG infamous beer garden will be selling $3 beer and $4 wine all night long. Munch on yummy treats from the concession stand while browsing numerous vendors showcasing all you need to bleed SVRG black and green. Listen to the rockin' tunes of live local band Up & Go during halftime and between bouts. Doors open at 5:30 pm. General seating means arrive EARLY to get a track-side seat.

A portion of the bout proceeds will be donated to West Valley Community Services, which encourage the sharing of community resources, provide basic human needs in a caring and dignified environment, and offer volunteers opportunities.
