The Buddy Walk is the world’s most widely recognized public awareness program for the Down syndrome community. Since it was established in 1995 by the National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS), it has become the premier advocacy event for Down syndrome in the United States.
On Saturday, October 20, the walk returns to the Bay Area for it’s eighth year with a mission to promote acceptance and inclusion of people with Down syndrome and to celebrate Down Syndrome Awareness Month in October.
The last day to register for the Bay Area Buddy Walk is Monday, October 15. There are no fees to participate, and the scheduled program offers a jazzercise warm-up, face painting, arts and crafts, music, dancing, speakers, prizes and more.
