Panorama Capital Ventures

Panorama Capital was founded in 2005 to create an independent venture firm that will invest primarily in high-growth, development-stage life sciences and technology companies. We intend to utilize our team's extensive experience, track record and investment discipline to continue the successful life sciences and technology investment strategy executed during our tenure at JPMorgan Partners (JPMP).

Since 1984, JPMP managed a multi-billion dollar global private equity portfolio funded primarily with capital from JPMorgan Chase (JPMC) that combined both venture and buyout investments in a single portfolio.

In late 2001, JPMP raised J.P. Morgan Partners Global Investors Fund I, L.P. ("JPMP Global Fund I") allowing significant institutional investor participation alongside JPMC for the first time. In March 2005, JPMC announced that the JPMP team would become independent upon the completion of the investment period for JPMP Global Fund I and in 2006 agreed to support the formation of Panorama Capital which is the successor to the venture capital program of JPMP Global Fund I.

Panorama Capital is managed by a seasoned group of life sciences and technology investors who collectively possess over 200 years of investment and industry experience and have invested through multiple economic cycles. Importantly, we have worked together for many years and contribute complementary skills and experiences to the firm. In addition to extensive investing experience, the Panorama Capital team possesses broad experience as executives, entrepreneurs, engineers, and physicians. This collective experience gives Panorama Capital a powerful combination of technical, entrepreneurial, operational, and transactional expertise to help foster the development of our portfolio companies.

Our approach seeks to identify and invest in companies that will provide the best return opportunity regardless of the stage of company maturity. This strategy starts with careful evaluation of a company's fundamentals, including: team; market opportunity; technology and product; competitive landscape; business model; capital requirement; and investment return potential. Panorama Capital believes that its ability to evaluate and invest in companies at all stages of maturity balances its investment portfolio and enables it to more effectively capitalize on market and industry cycles. When we invest in early-stage companies, we expect to invest significant additional capital in subsequent financing rounds.

Over the years, Panorama Capital has adopted a collaborative, team-oriented investment culture, which will be further enhanced through the sharing of economics and responsibility among our investment professionals. Unlike other multi-sector venture capital funds with separate teams responsible for their specific sector portfolio, we manage life sciences and technology investments as one portfolio and actively collaborate on all investment decisions.
