Michelle Klein
Michele Klein is a director of Applied Ventures, the venture capital fund of Applied Materials, Inc., responsible for identifying, recommending and managing venture capital investments since 2005.
Prior to her current position, Ms. Klein led the In-line Electrical Metrology team in the Process and Diagnostics Control (PDC) business group since 2003. Before joining Applied Materials, she founded and led two semiconductor equipment companies and served actively on technology boards for 17 years. Ms. Klein was CEO and President of Boxer Cross from 1997 to 2003, when it was acquired by Applied Materials. She led her previous start-up, High Yield Technology, from 1986-1996. Prior to that, Ms. Klein held marketing management positions at Knoll International and Hewlett-Packard.
Ms. Klein is a board observer for Solaicx, a high-efficiency solar wafer manufacturer, and Infinite Power Solutions (IPS), a thin-film battery manufacturer. She is also a director of the Silicon Valley Association for Startup Entrepreneurs (SVASE), and serves on the Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International (SEMI) planning committee for the Industry Strategy Symposium (ISS 2008).
She has served on the boards of several non-profits, including the CEO Forum, the Community Relations Council and Stanford Hillel, and is currently a trustee of the San Jose Museum of Art.
Ms. Klein received a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Illinois and a Master in Business Administration from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
