The Fourth Annual Sustainable Sandhills Green Living & Design Tour will be held on Saturday, November 7 from 10am – 4pm. This year, the Tour has expanded to include more than 25 green homes and businesses across four counties – Cumberland, Harnett, Hoke and Moore. These county tours are self-guided and FREE! A guided tour of Fort Bragg’s greenest sites and buildings is also available by SS partner, Sustainable Fort Bragg.

Start your 2009 Tour experience at one of the four county Headquarters. Pick up a copy of the 14-page Tour Program, visit with a green industry vendor/exhibitor and devise a tour route that fits your schedule and interests. The four Headquarter sites are listed below:
• Cumberland Headquarters: Moore Exposure, 215 Williams Street, Fayetteville
• Harnett Headquarters: The home of Frank and Marianne Stump, 4757 Ross Road, Lillington
• Hoke Headquarters: Raft Swamp Farms, 4978 Red Springs Road, Raeford
• Moore Headquarters: Green Goods, 220 NW Broad Street, Southern Pines

The tour sites include: custom-built green homes, SS Certified Green Businesses, solar installation companies, redeveloped historic buildings, an organic "incubator" farm, a methane collection system, mainstream builder homes with Energy Star certifications, and a straw bale home.

Fort Bragg Tour Meeting Location: Meet at the North Post PX near the intersection of Butner Road and Souter Place, where a 15-seat passenger van will depart once an hour for a 45-50 minute guided tour of some of the installation's greenest buildings and sites. NOTE that this meeting point is on-post, so please allow time for vehicle inspections at one of Fort Bragg's Access Control Points.
