Susan Gibson is best known for penning the Dixie Chicks’ Wide Open Spaces. Her songs come from the heart, are based in truth, sung with an angelic but distinctive voice and played in an accomplished style. She was 1998 CMA Songwriter of the Year, 2009 West Texas Music Hall of Fame Entertainer of the Year and 2011 Official Showcase Artist at Folk Alliance International. She is fully recovered from a horrific auto accident in 2010, and after a year of healing and reflection, she is touring in support of her latest CD Tightrope.
