Susan B. Anthony & Women in SC Politics, a FREE Chautauqua discussion February 26, 2013

Former US House Representative and the last South Carolinian woman to serve in the US Congress, Liz Patterson explores the life and work of Susan B. Anthony and the role of women in South Carolina politics. Liz Patterson served on the Spartanburg County Council (1975-7), in the SC Senate (1979-86), and in the US House of Representatives (1986-92). She is the daughter of former South Carolinian Governor and US Senator, Olin Johnston.

This is the first of a four-part monthly discussion series “American Legends.” The series continues with Davy Crockett (March 19 @ 7pm and March 23 @ 2pm), Herman Melville (April 16 @ 7pm), Malcolm X (May 14 @ 7pm). This discussion series is presented by Greenville Chautauqua in collaboration with the Greenville County Library System
