Surviving High-Conflict Divorce February 21, 2008

The Nurturing Center is offering a parenting program called After the Storm for parents who have taken our Children in the Middle class. This skills-oriented program will help parents learn to stay involved as effective parents in spite of the separation and conflict, communicate their feelings without increasing the conflict, think differently about dealing with the other parent, problem solve around parallel parenting issues, listen to the other parent’s point of view, and shield children from exposure to conflict.

After the Storm is skill focused—the approach most likely to produce lasting behavior change, incorporates thinking pattern changes that will promote behavior change, targets the most stress-inducing parental behaviors for change, and comes with curriculum materials for parents to take home.

Two session class: Thursday, Feb. 21, 4:30-6:30pm and Saturday, Feb. 23, 8:30-10:30am. $35 per person.
