A dance-theatre production in which humour and poetry go hand-in-hand and fantasy and realism
overlap, Family Portrait presents the picture of an apparently ordinary family – but behind
appearances are dreams, imagination, desires, and memories. Spellbinding choreography and
engaging characters make Family Portrait a magical show that amazes children and adults alike.
Founded in 1985, the Sursaut dance company is devoted to the creation, production and
dissemination of dance shows for young and family audiences. The company's productions are
presented from coast to coast in Canada as well as outside the country. Sursaut's joyful and
touching creations thrill spectators, young and old alike, everywhere they are presented.
