'Surfwise' traces the unconventional family of Dorian "Doc" Paskowitz, who abandoned two marriages and a successful physician's practice for a transient life of surf and sun. His quickly growing brood moved from one competition to the next in their trailer home, and word of their talent quickly spread. But without any real education, community or friends, the Paskowitz children soon found themselves ill-equipped for the realities of life on land. This edgy and controversial documentary shows a family's rise and fall under the weight of their ego-maniacal patriarch's single obsession.
