Supply Chain Management: Overview April 9, 2009

The Overview course provides the foundation for understanding and applying the supply chain system, giving tool, techniques and best practices in achieving high performance supply chains.

This first course will provide an overview of the entire supply chain planning process. It begins with the explanation of a supply chain, and how supply chains are managed. Further, this course will expose participants to the environment, technology, basic concepts, and terminology used in demand planning, inventory and material planning, distribution planning, fulfillment planning, and related components of a supply chain.

Upon completing the course, students will learn to appreciate the complex connection of relationship management, strategic planning, logistics, inventory control, distribution, contract management, technologies, etc. Case studies will be utilized to demonstrate the concepts of supply chain management.
