This course will focus on the importance of demand and supply in supply chain management, appreciating the growing need for effective demand management as part of an organization's supply chain expertise. We will identify the trend and seasonal projections in time series forecasting and describe the manufacturing strategy issues that impact the design and management of distribution systems. Additionally, we will summarize the importance of a good information and communication system for production planning and control. We will describe the inputs and outputs of material requirements planning (MRP) and develop an MRP schedule and understand the role and nature of procurement and outsourcing in the context of supply management.
