In the spirit of Michael Moore, documentary filmmaker Morgan Spurlock delivers a thought provoking social commentary on America's eating habits and unhealthy relationship with fast food. In Super Size Me, Spurlock performs a 30-day "McDiet" experiment, in which he'll only consume food he purchases at McDonald's. What he learns along the way surprises him as well as his doctors. Following its premiere at the 2004 Sundance Film Festival, where Spurlock picked up a directing prize, McDonald's caved to the bad publicity and announced it was phasing out its Supersize option - quite an incredible feat for a low-budget indie doc.
