Sunnyvale West Neighborhood Association (SWNA) is
planning an informative and fact-filled meeting with
two well-known speakers.
The first speaker of the evening, Richard McMurtry
will be speaking for 45 minutes on the Santa Clara
County Coalition campaign to restore local creeks to
be Living Streams. There will be a 10 minute question
and answer period following.
The second speaker, Patrick (Pat) Grant, renowned
former member of the Sunnyvale Bicycle Advisory Group,
and author of one of the most insightful comments
written on the Mary Avenue Extension D.E.I.R., will be
speaking on the Mary Avenue area – what others have
done in similar cases for livable neighborhood street,
some relevant government policies, and some options
for western Sunnyvale to consider. Pat Grant will
illustrate his 1 hour and 15 minute talk with over 40
power point slides and two short videos. There will be
a 10 minute question and answer period following.
The meeting will be held at 7:00 pm on June 16, 2008
at the meeting room in the Washington Park Building
(On Washington Avenue – take the west side of
Washington Avenue – the park is on the right hand
side, near Pastoria, and the park building is a few
hundred feet from the tennis courts. There is
convenient parking on Washington and Pastoria.
The first presentation will start promptly at 7:00 pm
and the meeting will end at 9:00 pm. Friends and
guests are welcome.
