The Sundays at Tufts Community Concert Series will present a concert of Japanese music featuring Elizabeth Reian Bennett, shakuhachi; Ayakano Cathleen Read, koto; and Elizabeth Anker, contralto. As is common in Japan, this concert will maintain a seasonal focus, including a 19th century “Song of Autumn” for shakuhachi and koto, and a koto solo entitled “The Silence of Autumn”. The concert will also include the premiere of new works by Tufts composers John McDonald and David Molk. The evening will close with two monk solos entitled “Meditation on Reeds” and “The Song of the V Geese”.
