This summer, you can try out an original Dutch NY400 bike in the streets of Manhattan during Summer Streets. Enjoy the car-free streets from the Brooklyn Bridge all the way up to Central Park on one of our bright orange bicycles!
NYC Department of Transportation presents Summer Streets. On three consecutive Saturdays in August (August 8, 15 and 22), they will close Park Avenue and connecting streets from the Brooklyn Bridge to Central Park to motor vehicles; a green and sustainable transportation campaign designed to give New Yorkers a chance to get out and enjoy their streets freely! The 6.9 mile stretch of NYC’s streets will be car-free from 7 AM till 1 PM.
NY400 will provide over 150 NY400 bikes that you can borrow for free to travel the Summer Streets route. They will be available at Bike and Roll stands on Park Avenue.
For those with bikes already, Transportation Alternatives will lead rides to and from Summer Streets from neighborhoods throughout the City. And Make Music New York as well as many others will provide music and entertainment along the way.
