This event is being hosted for a special cause! I recently met a young boy and his mother and I was touched by their story. Joaquine was born with a heath condiditon that doctors thought he would grow out of. Needless to say he didn’t. Joaquine needed a kidney transplant at a very young age and we all know that finding a donor is not the easiest of things to do for something like that. After a long emotional search for a donor one was finally located...his own mother. Being a kidney donor is no easy surgery especially when you still need to care for your child while you try to recover. As any mother would do Meghan did not even think twice about saving her own child's life. I think that we would all love the chance to one day be able to save a person's life especially our own childs. Both Joaquin and Meghan are recovering well but now they are fighting a new battle that they need our communities help with. Medical bills for both surgeries are now haunting this incredible family. This is where we all come in to help!

On Saturday, June 21, 2008 Reno Truckee Salsa and KM Marketing Reno will be hosting a funraiser to help support this family at:

BB of Reno Truckee Salsa will be teaching a beginning salsa dance lesson from 8-9:30 pm with a salsa party in honor of young Joaquine and Meghan till ???.

Entry to the event will be $10.00 and ALL proceeds will go to this extraordinary family to pay their medical bills! Joaquine, his mother Meghan and his father will be attending this event so lets show them that the dancing community here in Reno cares and supports what I can only describe as a family willing to go above and beyond to save a life!
