This is Spinal Tap (R 1984)
Directed by Rob Reiner, starring Christopher Guest and Harry Shearer
Running Time: 83 mins.
The mockumentary began here, with the largely improvised story of a dead-end British heavy metal band called Spinal Tap that morphs from R&B to psychedelia to hard rock outfit. While on their first American tour in years, everything goes haywire as the band winds up billed second to a puppet show at an amusement park. A milestone in American comedy.
Preceded by the cartoon: Rabbit’s Kin
