Devil in Blue Dress (R 1995)
Directed by Carl Franklin, starring Denzel Washington and Don Cheadle
Running Time: 102 mins.
In this smooth neo-noir based on the Walter Mosley crime fiction series, "Easy" Rawlins (Washington) is looking for work in 1948 Los Angeles. When a stranger asks him to locate a missing moll (Jennifer Beals), the job spirals into a racially-charged web of intrigue of political machinations, double-crossings, and mysterious deaths. Cheadle nearly steals the show as Rawlins’ hot-tempered accomplice, Mouse.
