The Mayborn is delighted to present "Lakota Quillwork: Art and Legend-A Story of Sioux Porcupine Quilling: Past and Present."
Lakota Quillwork-Art and Legend explores the legends and art of Lakota quillwork, past and present. Through historic footage, special effects and paintings of Sioux artist Oscar Howe, the film portrays the legend of the Double Woman who first brought the art of porcupine quilling to Lakota women from the spirit world. Lakota Quillwork-Art and Legend has been acclaimed as the leading exponent on film of the nearly lost art of quilling.
Admission to the show is included with your entry fee: adults $6; seniors (65+) $5, children (18mo-12yr) $4, members and Baylor students are free. For more information call (254) 710-1110. Remember to bring your camera and make memories of this fun time with your family!
