Mog & Rue Boutique offers two levels of creative courses for aspiring young fashion designers. The courses are targeted at youngsters ages 8 to 18 with a passion for fashion. Cost includes all materials: tracing paper, sketch pads, graphite/ebony pencils, colored pencils and Prisma desgin markers.
Level A classes are geared toward the younger designers, ages 8-11. The classes discuss personal style, fashion careers, trends, color and what not to wear. The students are taught a classic approach to sketching using a traditional croquis or paperdoll. The class uses a directed drawing approach to successfully teach students in a non-competitive manor. The focus encourages improvement by adding small design pieces like buttons, yokes, seam lines, pockets and collars.
Level A: ages 8 to 11
Session I: July 6th to July 22nd
Monday and Wednesday nights
$240 for the 3 week session
Meets: 4:00 – 6:00 PM
Level B classes teach the students everything from drawing the basic croquis to illustrating fabrics, skin tone, and notions. By the end of a session the students should be able to illustrate a composition complete with face, hair, garments and shoes. The 10 head croquis, which will be taught in this class, is the same as those taught at schools such as the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. It makes a great prep class for any high schooler planning to apply at FIDM and a fun extra curricular class for anyone interested in fashion.
Level B: ages 11 to 18
Session I: July 6th to July 22nd
Monday and Wednesday nights
$240 for the 3 week session
Meets: 6:00 – 8:00 PM
