Bach - Orchestral Suite No.2
Bristol Choral Society present a feast of baroque delights in Bristol Cathedral this June.
Entrées of Bach, in the form of two of his motets (Komm, Jesu, Komm and Lobet den Herrn), plus the vibrant Orchestral Suite No.2 lead on to the main course of Handel's Dixit Dominus. This astonishing work displays a 22-year old composer truly in command of his craft - almost relentlessly energertic and virtuosic from the outset, with a youthful vigour that never fails to lift the spirit.
Great music plus a cast of fine soloists, baroque specialists the Corelli Orchestra and conductor Adrian Partington make this an evening not to be missed!
Tickets: £8 - £20 from 0117 965 7822 or at the door
