Best known as the vocalist and primary songwriter for the rock band Godsmack, Sully Erna usually rocks out on the drums and on guitar. But that is hardly all he is capable of. Known for Godsmack’s hard-edged music with a solid groove, his long-awaited solo album, Avalon, and accompanying tour builds is a visual experience, celebrating world cultures through music and with cinematic elements and changing scenery. This eclectic project explores Sully’s many musical experiences beyond rock music with seven other instrumentalists. The resulting show presents music composed by Sully over a two-year period, with cellists, electric guitars, haunting piano, hypnotic Oriental and tribal rhythms and Middle-Eastern style vocals. And as if he’s saying there are two sides to Sully Erna, this tour runs simultaneously with a Godsmack tour. For fans and non-fans, and anyone interested in a true artistic experience, come out to The Klein for this one.
“If you're longing to hear an artist create something unexpected, that's intense, easy on the ears, and a fun listen, go get Avalon.” Rocktopia.co.uk
