Stuy Town Presents Art Battles -- Realistic Vs. Abstract July 28, 2010

Join us as four artists battle it out in a Realistic vs. Abstract competition painting to the beats of drums at Stuy Town’s summer Art Battles’ competition.

The artists, armed with creativity and encouraged by dancers and the energy of the crowd, will have about two hours to create a piece of art based on the theme of Gaia (Greek mythology for Mother Earth).

The event is free and open to the public.

ArtBattles, at the forefront of New York City's live art movement, has been helping artists connect to the public. Like jazz musicians, these painters grab their instruments and attempt to entertain and inspire the world around them. The live audience enhances the work of the artist while the crowd feels a personal connection to the piece.
