Details:
The Brief
Thursday, October 29th
Tivoli Room #640 Auraria Campus, Downtown Denver
Student Registration time is 5:30
Cost: $20 ($15 group rate for 10 or more students registering on 1 credit card.)
Prizes: Registration fees will be pooled and awarded as scholarship money to the winners.
Event Breakdown: The Brief is a student design competition simulating a late night at an ad agency. Approximately 20 teams of 4 students (comprised of a Senior, Juniors and a Sophomore or Freshman from regional Colleges and Universities) will be directed by 10 Senior Creatives from the local Design and Advertising community through four hours of pencil and paper concepting and digital execution. The teams will respond to a design brief written by CP+B Senior Cognative Jamie Webb for the client Kendall Peterson, The Denver Office of Cultural Affairs Public Art Administrator. Each team will have minimum one laptop but the focus will be on traditional concepting – thumnail-sketches and mind maps followed by digital roughs.
In addition to receiving valuable real world experience, and networking opportunities with local art directors and with each other, student winners will receive scholarship money. Prizes will be awarded to the best concept AND the best execution.
