IN SUPPORT OF THE BETHESDA-CHEVY CHASE RESCUE SQUAD AND DOG RESCUE EFFORTS

Thousands of area residents and their dogs will gather for an all-day street festival full of family fun and dog activities. The fourth annual event is a fundraiser for the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rescue Squad (B-CC Rescue Squad), a community organization funded primarily by private donations.
When: Saturday, May 16, 2009 (10am-3pm)

Where: Woodmont Ave. between Bethesda Ave. Elm St. in Bethesda

What: 4th Annual Strut Your Mutt Dog Parade and Festival
Organized by the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rotary Club, this event will bring together over 5,000 participants and hundreds of dogs for a day of outdoor festivities. Over 40 exhibitors and sponsors, along with local and state officials, will be out to support this annual fundraiser for the B-CC Rescue Squad.

In a special effort to help our furry friends, the event's main sponsor, Purina ProPlan’s Rally to Rescue tour, will host almost a dozen rescue organizations and demonstrations by Melissa Heeter, former Disk Dog World Champion.

Individuals interested in participating in the day's activities can register online at www.strutyourmuttbethesda.org. The event will be held rain or shine. A schedule of events and list of exhibitors is also available on the event’s website.

Our Goal: To promote animal rescue awareness, pet adoption options, and to raise $40,000 through attendee registrations, exhibitors and sponsors for the B-CC Rescue Squad, one of the nation's premier volunteer fire/rescue organizations. It responds to more than 11,500 incidents a year with over 150 trained responders providing emergency services at no cost to members of the community.
