Street Vibrations is a five-day motorcycle extravaganza that draws riders from across the country. With vendors, live music and tattoo expositions, Street Vibrations is about more than motorcycle riding. Biker malls sell everything from leather chaps to tattoos to motorcycles.
Advertised as the nation's sixth largest motorcycle show, the official Northern California Harley-Davidson Dealers Association event last year attracted more than 40,000 people and had to extend farther up Virginia Street. Two hundred thirty-five vendors lined Virginia Street.
There's also live music, with free shows in downtown Reno and Sparks, plus concerts from acts such as the Doobie Brothers and Styx in recent years.
People from across the country come to find specialized merchandise to get ideas for their bikes, and to watch amazing events. At the "Mapes Motor Mall" at 1st and Virginia streets, motorcyclists performed stunts in the Globe Cross, a steel globe. Rides to historic Virginia City and dazzling Lake Tahoe provide other incentives to come to Street Vibrations.
