The William H. Shannon Chair in Catholic Studies at Nazareth College proudly presents a talk by Gerard Thomas Straub, the second lecturer in the Shannon Lecture series. Straub’s lecture, When Did I See You Hungry? A Filmmaker’s Journey from Hollywood to Haiti, takes place Thursday, October 27 at 7 p.m. in the Otto A. Shults Center Forum on the Nazareth campus, located at 4245 East Avenue, Rochester, N.Y., 14618. It is free and open to the public.
There is also a second lecture on Friday, October 28 at 1:30 p.m. Straub presents The Spiritual Power of Film. This lecture is also free and open to the public and takes place in the Otto A. Shults Center Forum at Nazareth College, 4245 East Ave., Rochester, NY 14618. Straub’s expertise in the field of filmmaking and production originates from his years of experience as a documentary filmmaker, author, and television producer of well-known television shows such as General Hospital and The Doctors. This year’s program, Awakening the Heart: The Art(s) of Faith, features four lecturers who have heeded the call to dialogue engaging theology in conversation with other disciplines to address the urgent questions and issues facing us today.
