Entitlement is a management problem. Managers are paid to deal with management problems although many do not, instead lobbing the issues to Human Resources to put into place a program or a policy to deal with the problems. In the case of entitlement, the best policy is straight talk.
In this one hour talk, participants will:
* Explore the meaning of entitlement and how it has changed over time
* Brainstorm ways entitlement attitudes manifest in the workplace
* Learn four ways to deliver straight talk for common entitlement issues
* Take away agendas to keep managers on track in difficult conversations
As long as people work together there will be a need for straight talk.

Christine Silver, Management Consultant, Silver Business Solutions, is a management consultant with a background in Human Resources and training. Her group training and one-to-one coaching expertise cover the following skill areas: leadership development, effective communication, team development, interview and candidate selection, and conflict resolution. Her experience as a one-to-one coach has helped managers in their performance management efforts. Christine has a bachelor's degree in Child Development from San Jose State University and a certificate in Human Resource Management from University of California, Santa Cruz.
