Straight from Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, Santa Stops in Rochester on his National Tour November 29, 2010

Giving the reindeer time off for good behavior, Santa will arrive in his shiny red tour bus accompanied by a police escort. Mayor Ardell Brede will greet Santa upon his arrival as a drumline and festive pipers perform. Santa welcomes one-and-all to join in the festivities as reads The Night Before Christmas, visits with children of all ages and encourages everyone to put their letters to Santa in the Macy’s Believe mailbox.

After his appearance in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, Santa hits the road for a national holiday 26-city bus tour as part of the Macy’s Believe campaign – Rochester is his 2nd stop! Through this campaign, people of all ages can visit their local Macy’s to fill out a postcard or bring a letter addressed and stamped to Santa and drop it in the special “Believe” mailbox. For each postcard received, Macy’s will make a $1 donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, up to $1 million, helping make dreams come true for young children with life-threatening medical conditions. Seventy-five percent of the funds raised through this campaign stay local. In 2009, the Minnesota chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation granted 203 wishes.
