"Once upon a time there was a consultant who..." Can you finish this story? Was there a pivotal event in your life that shaped your work as a consultant? Did you help a client transform his/her life?
Storytelling is the oldest form of human communication. Long before written language, our ancestors gathered around the fire to share stories. Discover the power of storytelling as a means to convey to your clients and prospective clients your passion, your successes, and the mistakes that you have learned from. Learn how to grab your audience's attention and to keep them captivated, whether speaking one on one or to a large group.
At the April BACN meeting you will learn
* How to select true stories from your own life that will convey an important message.
* How to deliver stories with skill and confidence to an audience of one or hundreds.
* How to think on your feet by learning how to improvise in the moment and tell stories on the fly.
Participants will engage in a series of interactive exercises in pairs and small groups, using tools and techniques from the worlds of storytelling and improvisational theater. Attendees will leave with at least one good story idea to develop and deliver to clients, and will practice giving feedback to each other on their storytelling skills.
