Children with food allergies, their friends and families are invited to a special reading from the “Alexander the Elephant Who Couldn’t Eat Peanuts” series, created by the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network (FAAN) to help children learn about food allergy.
Channel 4 Action News Anchor Sally Wiggin and Meteorologist Stephen Cropper, Honorary Co-Chairs of the FAAN Walk for Food Allergy: Moving Toward A Cure in Pittsburgh, are expected to read to help mark the 12th Annual Food Allergy Awareness Week, which runs May 10-16, and is focused on helping those with food allergies to “Take Action, Prevent Reactions.”
Admission to auditorium is free and event is open to public.

The FAAN Walk for Food Allergy in Pittsburgh will be held at Hartwood Acres on Sunday September 20, 2009. The event, to be held in 35 cities across the country as well as online, is sponsored by FAAN to increase awareness about food allergy and to raise money for research and education.
