Dr. Joyce Duncan and Thelma Ruffian Thomas, founders of the African Folk Heritage Circle, are joined by an African percussionist for an afternoon of storytelling, singing, and grooving to the drum beat at the Dana Discovery Center. The Central Park Conservancy offers this program in partnership with the African Folk Heritage Circle, a group of storytelling artists working within the African oral tradition to redefine African folklore, folk medicine, folk life, folk wisdom, and to harness the power of deep symbolism in traditional African stories.
