Flash Fiction is a genre written in celebration of Shakespeare’s famous axiom that “Brevity is the soul of wit.” Simply put, flash fiction is an extremely compact form of storytelling. Other names for it include: “short short story, sudden, micro, furious, skinny and postcard fiction. Famous practitioners of the form include Anton Chekhov, O. Henry, Franz Kafka, Ray Bradbury and Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. The challenge of flash fiction is to tell a complete story, with a beginning, middle and end, in which every single word is absolutely essential.
Buntport Theater Company members are Brian Colonna, Hannah Duggan, Erik Edborg, Erin Rollman, Samantha Schmitz, and Evan Weissman.
With a vibrant ensemble of six people Buntport Theater Company is intent on creating innovative and affordable entertainment, by writing and producing all of their work. Each piece grows from a collaborative process, without specific directors or designers, relying on the combined skills of the whole ensemble. Known for unusual adaptations and quirky original comedies, they keep their seasons packed, debuting several new full-length productions in addition to a variety of less traditional programming. From live sit-coms to unique open mic nights to family friendly entertainment to an on-going series at the Denver Art Museum, Buntport Theater Company offer programs that appeal to people from all walks of life.
