STORIES ON STAGE
PRESENTS Bless the Beasts
It’s been said that “Our perfect companions never have fewer than four feet,” and we couldn’t agree more. Stories on Stage, in a collaboration with the Center for Digital Storytelling, presents the many funny and heartfelt ways in which animals enrich our daily lives.

Shishir Kurup returns to read “Sir Henry,” Lydia Millet’s charming tale of a dog walker with very high standards and his elegant charges, including a dignified dachshund named “Sir Henry.” Denver favorite Sam Gregory reads “The Death of a Pig” by E. B. White - The recounting of several days and nights with an ailing pig. “Where I Live” by Amy Ozols – A story of eight cats in a studio apartment, will be read by Denver Center actor and DU Assistant Professor, Anne Penner.
"Bless the Beasts" is sponsored in part by the Citizens of the Scientific and Cultural District (SCFD), The Denver Foundation, Gay & Lesbian Fund for Colorado and the Ralph and Florence Burgess Trust.
Celebrating their 12th season, Stories on Stage creates programs from the belief that literature is a rich source of powerful stories and actors enhance the impact of literature on people’s lives. The Mile High Chapter of the American Red Cross awarded Stories on Stage its first-ever Leadership in Inclusiveness Award. In being the Community Inclusiveness Hero, Stories on Stage was cited for giving audiences “an experience of identifying with people and situations outside of their own worlds.”
